The strategy of has five guidelines:

  • easy start-up;
  • guarantee of security;
  • reliability of the components;
  • direct or easy integration within the large networks;
  • cheap solution.

The fundamental aim that is common to all current telematic projects for transport and logistics is to achieve the starting of a large quantity of operators. For the sake of efficacy of the instrument used as a mean of communication and ability to create synergy, it must obtain a homogeneous critical mass of interlocutors.

confronts transport and logistic problems from the Ports, which are a reference of interchange between different transport systems. Globalization is rapidly and continuously increasing beginning exactly from the transport sector in which the logistic port nodes assume an irreplaceable role regarding the transfer of goods from the place of production to that of consumption.

FOCUS POINTS
"To make information and documents circulate faster than the relative goods"
"To virtually expand wharves: reduce loading/unloading time and the permanence of goods in the yard and the warehouse"
"To be able to satisfy the emerging needs specific to the logistics and transport sector, in concurrence with the dynamic development of e-commerce technologies"

The choice regarding

information technology instruments is dictated by the following requisites:

  • the use of a basic standard platform that is at the same time cheap (Lotus Notes);
  • the capacity to operate at its best even on networks with reduced bandwidth, in order to be on the highest number of nodes;
  • the use of a distributed database architecture to minimise the necessity and the cost of data transmission and to increase at a maximum the redundancy and the robustness of the system;
  • the choice of a protocol that gives assurance of the identity of the participants in dialogue, and contemporarily guarantees the inviolability of the information transmitted. In this way ensuring the requisites concerned with the legal and commercial rules of a network transaction.

These requirements are considered to be fundamental to the development of e-business, an area to which is oriented. Electronic commerce which is in rapid expansion, finds itself at an important cross point concerned with the security of data transmission: the end of the expensive and rigid private network, with the consequent migration towards the public networks, and the arrival of the digital signature, new form of guarantee.
